BACO International

Professor Rea was Academic Vice-Chair of BACO International in Birmingham in February 2023. This is much the biggest ENT conference in the UK attracting some 1500 delegates from around the world. He was delighted to welcome colleagues from as far away as Australia (including Professor Cathy Birman from Sydney with whom he did his fellowship year over 20 years ago) and to introduce Anna Soubry, a high profile former government minister, to the platform. It was a wonderful enlightening few days.

British Society of Otology’s 20th Anniversary Meeting

Professor Rea was delighted to be part of the British Society of Otology’s 20th Anniversary meeting at the newly refurbished Royal College of Surgeons in London in May 2023. As recent past-president of the organisation it was particularly rewarding for him to see the organisation flourish. He had a sneak preview of the new Huntarian Museum of Anatomy - a world famous repository of human anatomy - and to chair a number the lectures in an amazing landmark London building.
