May Update 2
20 May 2020
The London Road Clinic Reopening - May 22nd
We are delighted now to be reopening for face to face consultations on the 22nd May. The consultants have not only been carefully following national guidance but have been involved in writing a significant part of this as well for colleagues around the UK.
It is a great responsibility for those involved. The good news is that we can now see our old and new patients once more. The clinic has had many alterations with safety screens, new safety procedures, and lots of new protective equipment. This is described on the website else where. We were also very pleased to be reviewed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as the pandemic developed to ensure all our processes meet best practice standards. The London Road Clinic will be a “clean” clinic and will not be seeing anyone with COVID-19 infection or with those symptoms, which we hope will be an added layer of reassurance for you. We have all really missed the personal interactions that are so much part of life at the clinic, are looking forward to seeing our patients again so much.

Prof. Rea and The British Society of Otology
Professor Rea has continued his work as President of The British Society of Otology, the UK's leading organisation for ear surgeons and their patients. He has spent recent weeks preparing return to practice guidelines for ENT doctors and a particularly big piece of work for ear surgeons. This is all being published on the ENT UK website later in May.
Prof. Rea Speaks at The British Academy of Audiology
In May Professor Rea was invited to speak to 700 delegates at a webinar for the launch of the British Academy of Audiology’s updated practice guidelines and to answer questions from the audiologists and other specialists present. It was wonderful to see so many organisations that ENT surgeons interact with pulling in the same direction for the common good, so we can get back to treating our patients.
