Life on the Level Meeting - June 22nd

Life on the Level have announced are delighted to announce Prof Peter Rea as their next support group guest speaker at their next support group meeting at 2pm on Saturday 22nd June at the Premier Suite at Leicester Racecourse.

As one of the leading experts in the field of balance and vertigo, Peter's presentation is entitled “Three recent developments in the world of balance”

Peter's work provides him insight into many areas of balance and vestibular illness, that will give many of our members great hope in what the future may bring in terms of treatment and understanding of these conditions. We eagerly await the content of his presentation.

Prof Rea has kindly agreed to allow us to stream his presentation and Q&A session via Facebook Live on our support group page http://www.facebook.com/lifeonthelevelsupportgroup

As many members are unable to travel to group meetings due to their balance challenges, and Prof Reas presentation will have great interest to an international audience – we are for the first time streaming the entire presentation Live. The USA’ National Balance charity VeDA has already agreed to promote this occasion to its own US and Canadian membership for live viewing, due to the interest and relevance of Prof Rea’s work in the field of international Balance research. A first for a Leicester based support group.

Prof. Rea began his medical training at the University of Cambridge, graduating with first-class honors before moving to Oxford to complete his early medical qualifications. His specialist training in ENT surgery was spent in the major London teaching hospitals, including the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and Great Ormond Street Hospital. He has also undertaken prestigious “fellowship” training in Australia and the USA. His specialist practice, for both ear surgery and dizziness, draws patients from all over the UK and further afield.

Prof. Rea has appeared in the national press, advised the BBC and has written for major ENT textbooks. He lectures regularly on these topics and runs international medical meetings in both Leicester and London.

Leicester Racecourse and their CEO Bob Bracken, have generously provided the facilities for the next group meeting. Not only does this have a large seating capacity, but also has provision of ample free parking, ground floor facilities with no stairs or steps to access the meeting suite. The Racecourse is well signposted and situated on the outskirts of Leicester at Leicester Road, Oadby, Leicester LE2 4AL

For those who cannot attend Life on the Level group meetings, please do not despair, as they issue full meeting reports, normally with audio and video recordings of key presentations with any important information & web site links – to all members. Please also remember that as isolation is a common problem faced by many members, and Life on the Level provide our Balance Buddy program to maintain contact without the need to attend group meetings. For members with no internet or email access, hard copies can be sent to their home address.
