Professor Rea Invited to Talk at The British Society of Otology AGM

Professor Rea has been invited to talk at the Annual General Meeting of The British Society of Otology (BSO) about The National Otology (ear surgery) Audit. With colleagues on the The BSO National Council he is working to establish a process that will assess the outcome of all ear surgery undertaken in England by all surgeons. The aim is to raise treatment quality nationwide on a long term basis.

Professor Rea to visit Pakistan

Professor Rea is preparing for his trip to Pakistan later in the year. He has been invited to give a series of lectures at prestigious centres, on a variety of ear, nose, and throat related topics. It will be his first visit to the country and his hosts have organised a wonderful series of events which he is looking forward to very much.

Biography of Professor William Gibson

Professor Rea was honoured to be invited to review the biography of his former teacher Professor William Gibson, Professor of Otolaryngology in Sydney. They spent a year together in Australia, 16 years ago. Professor Rea finds his practice still deeply influenced by the experience. The book details the incredible advances in hearing, tinnitus, and balance research and treatments that have occurred in one lifetime, and how a visionary and compassionate surgeon such as Professor Gibson can influence patient care around the world. (Strange but true: Professor Gibson’s middle names are Peter Rea - Professor William Peter Rea Gibson!)

Staff Summber BBQ

Professor Rea and his family kindly opened their house to entertain all the staff and their families at The London Road Clinic for a summer BBQ. Luckily the weather held up after a previous week of torrential rain and a lovely time was had by all. A Super BBQ, and lots of family fun to include a bouncing castle sumo wrestling suits, badminton and polo.
